In Chapter 6 of the Urdu 1st Year Notes for “Overcoat,” we find ourselves immersed in the narrative of a well-dressed young man on a chilly January evening. As he strolled from Davies Road to Mall Road, then turned down and headed towards Chairing Cross Lane, his appearance exuded a sense of fashion and refinement. With neatly groomed, glistening hair and an occasional silver-trimmed mustache, he donned an almond-colored overcoat, its hem adorned with a half-opened sherbet-colored rose, and a peculiarly styled green felt hat.
His demeanor was distinctive, with a crooked white silk gauntlet draped around his neck, one hand tucked in his coat pocket, and the other playfully twirling a small stick of beads. Despite the harsh winter’s cold and biting winds, this young man seemed impervious to the weather’s sting, relishing his walk in the midst of the frigid season.
