In the current scenario, the development process of English textbooks has undergone a concept shift, focusing on providing updated information and knowledge in a balanced manner. These textbooks are now designed to align knowledge with language skills, enabling practical application in everyday life.
This particular textbook has been developed by the Punjab Curriculum & Textbook Board, following the guidelines set by the National Curriculum 2006. It incorporates qualitative and quantitative measures and skills to teach English not only as a tool of sophistication but also as a means of acquiring modern scientific knowledge and learning mechanisms.
The book covers a variety of genres, including poems, short stories, autobiographies, and essays, designed to prompt young minds for critical analysis. The contents are engaging, ensuring students’ interest throughout. Text-based activities enhance listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, while also emphasizing ethical and moral values.
