A Dialogue Chapter 16 English 2nd Year

In Lesson 16, titled “A Dialogue,” the focus is on a conversation between two friends, Farasat and Saleem, in a college library. The dialogue begins with the friends expressing concern over another incident of child abuse reported in the newspaper. Their class teacher joins them at the library table, notices their distress, and invites them to discuss the matter in his room over tea.

In the teacher’s room, the conversation delves into the serious issue of child abuse. The teacher explains that child abuse encompasses neglect, emotional abuse, physical abuse, and sexual abuse. The abuse can occur within the family, community, or institutional settings, perpetrated by known or unknown individuals, adults, or even other children.

The students, particularly Farasat, express their distress over recent tragic incidents of child abuse that have led to mass protests. The dialogue sheds light on the gravity of the issue and highlights the need for awareness and discussion to address and combat child abuse.
